Configure a BOM Logic Rule for Post BOM Product Adjustment

5 views April 8, 2026

The Post BOM Product Adjustment phase is an additional execution phase that runs after BOM generation is complete. It allows advanced users familiar with BOM Logic Rules and product assembly phases to make final adjustments to existing BOM product lines without re-running waste or rounding logic.

This phase is designed to address complex estimating scenarios, such as aligning quantities across different material sizes or normalizing labor quantities after rounding has already occurred. It can also be used to align or consolidate related product lines under a single building phase.

Before you begin

Ensure that:

  • BOM Logic Rules are enabled for your organization
  • You have permission to create or edit BOM Logic Rules
  • The products you want to adjust already exist in the generated BOM

Follow these steps to configure a BOM Logic Rule for post-BOM product adjustment

Note: Because this phase runs last, waste and rounding are not recalculated. Changes apply only to finalized BOM data.

  1. Go to Estimating, then select BOM Logic Rules.
  2. Click Add Rule or open an existing rule.
  3. Select Post BOM Product Adjustment as the Execution Phase This will cause the rule to run last and to stop running during product assembly phases.
  4. Save the rule.
  5. Next, return to rule that you just created.
  6. Navigate to the Condition section and select the + to create the new condition.
  7. In the Condition section, narrow down exactly which products should be considered for swapping. Add any attributes required for the rule to trigger, such as:
    • Product
    • Building Phase
    • Style
    • Category
    • Option
    • Use
    • Job Code (if applicable for your system)
  1. Add a Modify action, then select the product properties you want to change. The option to Add or Remove products during post-BOM product adjustment is not available.
  2. Click Save.
