The following document will take a look at how to create a Product substitution that automatically triggers based on the location field of a Job. Review the steps below to accurately execute Product substitutions within Pipeline BOM regeneration.
From the Pipeline LBM Dashboard, use the Blue Navigation bar to select the Company dropdown.
Click on Locations.
Determine the location for which a substituted Product is necessary. Click on that determined location.
On the Blue Navigation bar, select Substitutions. Note: Make sure the View is Product Substitutions.
Click plus button in the upper right corner of the Product Substitutions modal.
Click on Select Product inside the Default Product drop down field. (This is the product being substituted out.) Select the Product to be removed.
Click on Select Product inside the Substitute Product drop down field. (This is the product being substituted in.) Select the Product to be added.
Select a new Calculation, if needed. Note: This calculation is applied on a Job BOM level, after Key Measure calculations have been applied.
Click Save
The result is that when the Bill of Materials is generated, the PLBM user will be able to see a new substituted Product has been applied based on the specific location determined within Pipeline LBM.
