Uses are used within the Pipeline LBM software as a organization
tool when establishing, and working with, a Bill of Materials (BOM). Uses, in
conjunction with Pipeline LBM Categories, allow a user to quickly look at a particular
product and see how it is being used in a job. Follow the steps outlined below to create
and utilize Uses in Pipeline LBM.
- From the Pipeline LBM Dashboard, click Estimating on the blue navigation
bar on the left side of the screen.
- Click Uses.
- From the main Uses page, click the blue Plus icon in the top right hand
corner of the screen.
A New Use pop up will prompt for the creation of a new use to be
saved.
- Populate the Use information, providing Name and Description and click
Save.
A success message will display once the use is saved. The use is now
viewable in the Pipeline LBM Uses list.
- Repeat steps 1-4 to create additional uses.
Use order will determine in what order a product is shown on the Job BOM. Once
created, Uses can be sorted in order of preference by hovering over the desired
use and then dragging it either up or down the list.
- If a use needs deleted, simply click the trash can icon at the far right
of the use to be deleted.
Functionally, within the Job BOM, a Pipeline LBM user can select
the View desired from the drop down menu. Uses can be utilized based on View and
organization.
